The necessary documentation varies depending on your origin and whether you’re a resident or tourist when renting a car with Maasa Car Rental in the UAE.

For UAE residents, the process is straightforward and efficient, requiring just four documents: passport copies, a residential visa, an Emirates ID, and a valid UAE Driving License.

Tourists, on the other hand, need a slightly different set of documents, including a passport, a visa with an entry stamp, a valid driving license from their home country, and an international driving permit or international driving license. However, if you possess a GCC, US, UK, Canada passport, or certain other countries’ passports, you can use your home country’s license.

To determine your eligibility for renting a car in Dubai, please ensure that your driving license is valid for driving in the UAE.

Certain elements are not covered by the car rental fee with Maasa Car Rental. These include a refundable deposit held by Maasa, which is returned after the vehicle is returned, and any fines are settled. Additionally, fuel, car parking fees, and Salik (road tolls) are not part of the rental price.

In the UAE, unlike some other countries, traffic fines may be generated a few days after the incident or reported by the Road and Transport Authority (RTA). This is why the deposit is essential for the company as a form of insurance to prevent potential losses during the rental period.

The deposit amount varies depending on the type of car you rent. For instance, it will be higher for luxury vehicles like Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, or Ferrari compared to other cars. The deposit is temporarily held on your credit card and will be fully or partially refunded after 21 days once the rental agreement is concluded. The final amount is contingent on factors such as paid fines, speeding tickets, or other deductions, including late car returns, damages, exceeding mileage, and Salik charges.

If you prefer not to use your credit card, you can settle any additional charges in cash upon request.

Both visitors and residents often find renting a car to be a more economical choice compared to purchasing one. Renting saves you money since we take care of maintenance costs. Moreover, if you’re interested in experimenting with various car models or types, it’s a hassle-free process with Maasa Car Rental. It’s quick, simple, and convenient.

Salik is Dubai’s electronic road toll system, operating seamlessly without the need for toll booths, ensuring uninterrupted driving for motorists. Each car is equipped with a red sticker on the windshield, and when you pass through Salik, AED 5 is deducted from your prepaid toll account. With Maasa Car Rental, all Salik charges are managed through the RTA Salik system and billed when you return the car.

It’s worth noting that even when you use a taxi in Dubai, you will also incur Salik charges, which are typically settled at the end of your trip.

In a bustling city like Dubai, traffic fines are a common occurrence. One of the most frequent fines is for exceeding the speed limit since speed cameras monitor a significant portion of Dubai’s roads, and it’s easy to unintentionally go over the limit when enjoying the smooth driving experience.

If a traffic violation occurs, a fine will be issued to the driver. To prevent this, it’s important to stay within the posted speed limits, ensure you’ve paid for your RTA parking, and always obey all road signs and regulations.

In the UAE, rental cars typically come equipped with air conditioning and a radio. Newer models often include additional features like a USB music player or mobile charging port, enhancing the overall driving experience. Keep in mind that each car model varies in terms of its features and specifications, which could include a touch screen or push-button ignition. So, it’s advisable to check that the chosen car meets your specific requirements before renting it.

If you require extras such as a GPS, baby or child seat, or WIFI, Maasa Car Rental offers these amenities upon request, usually at an additional cost.

In the UAE, parking regulations typically involve free parking for a designated period at most shopping malls, with hourly fees applicable thereafter. Additionally, Dubai boasts numerous roadside, underground, and open-space parking facilities for the convenience of drivers. It’s crucial to ensure payment for your RTA parking either through paid parking machines or by sending an SMS to 7275 with your car plate and parking zone number. Failure to do so may result in fines.

As per RTA, all rental cars in the UAE are provided with comprehensive insurance (a.k.a. basic insurance).

All rental cars come with standard mileage limit based on your rental period.

However, some companies offer unlimited mileage as well. Custom mileage limit packages for an additional charge may be available.

To calculate your mileage, the car rental agreement mentions the km on the car’s odometer at the start of your rental.

If you exceed the allowed kms, additional charges apply. For this car, AED 5 / km is chargeable above the included mileage limit.

The legal age to rent a vehicle (car, van, pick-up truck, SUV or any other) in the UAE is 21 years as per RTA regulations.

However, this largely depends on the insurance policy issued to the car by the car rental company.

The minimum age may be 23 years and even 25 years, in some cases.

The minimum age to rent the listed car is 21 years. Please contact the supplier for more details.

If you have a new driving license that’s less than six months old, please check with the car rental agent as the requirement varies based on the insurance policy of the respective car.

Some are available for new driving license holders at a higher security deposit amount, with limited insurance coverage and liable for higher excess fee while others are only available with older licenses.

All cars can be rented with a valid driving license older than six months.
